Movie Storyline

Plot In 2036, a civil war between pro-Russian insurgents and local resistances in  Ukraine  leads the  US  to deploy peacekeeping forces. During an operation, a team of  United States Marines  and "Gumps" (robotic soldiers) are ambushed. Disobeying an order,  drone  pilot  1st Lt.  Harp deploys a  Hellfire missile  in a drone strike against a suspected enemy launcher, killing 2 Marines but saving 38. As punishment, Harp is sent to Camp Nathaniel, the US base of operations in Ukraine where he is assigned to  Captain  Leo, a highly advanced and experimental  android  super-soldier masquerading as a human officer. Harp and Leo set out on a mission to prevent terrorist Victor Koval from gaining control of a network of  Cold War -era  nuclear missile silos , under the cover of delivering vaccines to a  refugee camp . Plot In 1927, the Magical Congress of the United States of America ( MACUSA ) transfers the  dark wizard   Gellert Grindelwald  to Europe to stand trial, but Grindelwald escapes. Three months later in  London ,  Newt Scamander  visits the  Ministry of Magic  to appeal his international travel ban, and runs into Leta Lestrange, his  Hogwarts  classmate and the fiancée of his  Auror  brother Theseus. The Ministry agree to grant Newt's request if he helps Theseus locate Credence Barebone in  Paris , but Newt declines after learning he must work with ruthless bounty hunter Gunnar Grimmson.  Albus Dumbledore  asks Newt to save Credence from Grindelwald and the Ministry, believing Credence is Leta's long-lost half-brother, Corvus Lestrange V. Plot In 1986,  Professor Charles Xavier  and  Erik Lehnsherr  meet young  Jean Grey  at her parents' house to invite her to join their school, the  X-Mansion . Ten years later, the industrialist Warren Worthington II discovers  his son  is a  mutant  as he tries to cut off his wings. In the present, Worthington Labs announces it has developed an inoculation to suppress the X-gene that gives  mutants  their abilities and offer the "cure" to any mutant who wants it. The cure is created from the  genome  of a young mutant named  Jimmy , who lives at the Worthington facility on  Alcatraz Island . While some mutants are interested in the cure, including the  X-Men 's  Rogue , many others are horrified by the announcement. Magneto re-establishes his  Brotherhood of Mutants  with those who oppose the cure, warning his followers that the cure will be forcefully used to exterminate the mutant...

Plot At the  White House , brainwashed teleporting  mutant   Nightcrawler  attacks the  President of the United States . He is shot and retreats. Meanwhile,  Logan  explores an abandoned military installation at Alkali Lake in  Alberta  for clues to his past, but finds nothing.  Jean Grey  has been having premonitions and struggles to concentrate as her powers become increasingly difficult to control. Later, Logan returns to  Professor Xavier 's school for mutants, and Xavier tracks Nightcrawler using  Cerebro . Xavier and  Cyclops  go to question the imprisoned  Magneto  about the attack, while X-Men  Storm  and Jean Grey retrieve Nightcrawler. Military scientist Colonel  William Stryker  approaches the president and receives approval to investigate Xavier's mansion for their ties to mutants in the wake of the recent attack. Plot In  Nazi-occupied Poland , in 1944, young  Erik Lehnsherr  is separated from his parents upon entrance into the  Auschwitz concentration camp . While he attempts to reach them, he causes a set of metal gates to bend toward him. This is the result of a mutant ability to create  magnetic fields  and control metal manifesting, but he is knocked out by the  guards . In the not too distant future,  U.S. Senator   Robert Kelly  attempts to pass a " Mutant Registration Act " in  Congress , which would force mutants to reveal their identities and abilities. Present are Lehnsherr, now going by the name "Magneto", and his  telepathic  colleague  Professor Charles Xavier . Xavier sees Lehnsherr in attendance and is concerned with how he will respond to the Registration Act. Plot In 1845,  James Howlett , a boy living in  Canada , witnesses his father being killed by groundskeeper  Thomas Logan .  Anxiety  activates the boy's  mutation : bone claws protrude from his knuckles and he impales Thomas, who reveals that he is James' birth father before dying. James flees along with Thomas' other son  Victor Creed , who is James' half-brother and has a sharp claw-nails and healing factor mutation like James. They spend the next century as soldiers, fighting in the  American Civil War , both  World Wars  and the  Vietnam War  in 1973. In Vietnam, the increasingly violent Victor attempts to rape a Vietnamese woman and kills a senior officer who tries to stop him. James returns to Victor upon the commotion, and ignorant of his brother’s intent, he rushes to defend him. Plot In 1944, in the  Auschwitz Concentration Camp ,  Nazi  officer Klaus Schmidt witnesses young prisoner  Erik Lehnsherr  bend a metal gate with his mind upon being separated from his mother. In his office, Schmidt orders Erik to move a coin on his desk, and kills the boy's mother when Erik cannot. In grief and anger, Erik's magnetic power manifests, killing two guards and destroying the room. Meanwhile, at a  mansion  in  Westchester County, New York , child  telepath   Charles Xavier  meets young shapeshifter  Raven , whose natural form is blue-skinned and scaly. Overjoyed to meet someone "different", like himself, he invites her to live with his family as his foster sister. In 1962, Erik is tracking down Schmidt to avenge his mother, while Xavier graduates from the  University of Oxford . Plot In 1955, after his parents are killed in a car crash, ten-year-old Lewis Barnavelt moves to live with his Uncle Jonathan to New Zebedee, Michigan. All he has left of his parents is a  Magic 8-Ball  they had given him, and a family photograph. He meets Jonathan’s neighbor and best friend, Florence Zimmerman. During the night, Lewis is puzzled when he hears a ticking sound in the walls. Lewis begins exploring the house and stumbles upon Jonathan smashing a wall with an axe. Frightened, he runs away and stumbles upon multiple household objects coming to life. Jonathan confesses that he is a  warlock  and Florence is a  witch . The house’s previous owners were a sinister warlock named Isaac Izard, an orphaned former friend and fellow warlock of Jonathan and who fought at WWII (which it had left him traumatized by it), and his equally wicked wife Selena, who had hidden a clock within the walls of the house before they died. Plot In a remote underwater facility, doctors Susan McCallister and Jim Whitlock are doing research on  mako sharks  to help in the re-activation of dormant human brain cells like those found in  Alzheimer's disease  patients. After one of the sharks escapes the facility and attempts to attack a boat full of young adults, financial backers send corporate executive Russell Franklin to investigate the facility. Susan and Jim prove their research is working by testing a certain  protein complex  that was removed from the brain tissue of their largest shark, which bites off Jim's right arm upon awakening in the laboratory. Brenda Kerns, the tower's operator, calls a helicopter to evacuate Jim, but as he is being lifted, the cable jams and it causes Jim to fall into the shark pen.
